Not sure about Picasa, but it's super easy is the MS picture editor. Right click on the pic, select Open with -> Microsoft Office 2010. Click
"Edit" on the top, then select Resize on the right.

The easiest and fastest program I have found is "fast image resizer", it's free.
You can grab one or an entire folder of pics and just drop them in and it will resize all at whatever resolution you picked... It's so easy that I'm
sure even captkw could use it.
after you resize your pics you can upload to photobucket-picasa-email-whatever, it will take a 2meg pic and bring it down to 100k.
btw, I see you are in Oakdale. I will be up there next week doing a concert in Modesto.

The way I said will let you do an entire folder as well. You can pic the % of the original size you want. It takes about 15 secs.

Capt KW (another photo retard)

Pretty funny coincidence- the reason I am asking is that CaptK asked me last night to post a pic of his dog, which I took in March in SanQ, cuz he
hasn't figured out how to do so.
So, I am working on it,
hope I figure it out before the dog dies of old age....

Here's the "easy out"....
1) Go to: http://tinypic.com
2) Choose photo to upload from local computer.
3) If the image is greater than 800 pixels in width, choose to resize for 15" screen (800 x 600).
4) Use "Direct Link for Layouts" URL and use this icon to insert image in posting:

I use Picasa a lot and it wasn't obvious to me how to do this. Here's what I found: http://support.google.com/picasa/bin/answer.py?hl=en&ans...
None of those ways is ideal.

I was going to say "caveman" but since you had a recent pic problem....I'm glad you can take a joke..
Is picasa like photobucket as in you need to upload the pics before you can edit them?
If so , I would still use a resizing program before uploading... why upload a 2meg pic when you are limited to post 800x600 which can be 100k.. when
I'm in baja I have the Telcel usb card for my laptop and have a monthly limit of say 2gig.. that means I "could" roughly upload 1000 2meg
pictures..but I resize them first which would now allow me to now upload 20000pics before
I used up my 2gig allowance. (yes, twenty thousand pictures- watch out Russ!)

Here is a nice utility that I use for doing photo re-sizing. Very easy to use and does bulk and folder. It even has a drag and drop option. It's a
PC utility.
Combine it with using Dropbox and it is golden

Picasa is a Google product. It is much broader than Photo Bucket. It has a photo viewer, photo editor, library view, and the ability to upload to
web albums you can then share.
If you have an Android phone/gmail account, as soon as you create a web album it will immediately appear in your phone's Gallery as an album.
It's a really nice application. Why photo resizing isn't a little easier in it is mystery. Although when you create a web album it is really simple
to re-size all uploaded pics.

I understand that it is easy after the upload...I'm just questioning "why" you would want to upload that big of a file when you don't need too.
BTW.. I was a data tech for over 16 yrs and back in the old dial up days bandwidth was scarce and we reduced code as much as we could. Just like when
hard drives were small and expensive the OS was smaller.

Picasa re-sizes on the upload, not after.
