Cessna 182 makes emergency landing near Cabo
I have been following a news story about a private plane that disappeared off the radar screen near Cabo a couple days ago. There is alot of
speculation going on about this emergency landing the gringos made when the plane supposedly had some mechanical issues.
People think the plane was carrying drugs, or money or arms or explosives and was stolen in LA...maybe it was just tourists with engine trouble?
Is there any news of this on Baja Bush Pilots site? Anybody know anything concrete about this?

Cabo San Lucas, BCS-A two-thirty in the afternoon of this Sunday, the control tower reported the disappearance of a Cessna N97532-registered from the
city of Los Angeles, California.
The pilot reported mechanical problems and presented the latest coordinates, the search focused on the area Migriño and gaps. At first he thought he
could have landed on the road.
Immediately, elements of the Fire Department, Civil Defence, Federal Police, Municipal Police, Red Cross, Navy Mexico and the Mexican Army brigade
deployed a search in the area, with the support of the motorcycle rental company MotoSol.
At three p.m. came in groups to search for the aircraft by the sea and the splits that connect to La Candelaria, which is approximately within 25 to
35 kilometers from the port of Cabo San Lucas.
The results were negative until he received radio notice that one of the checkpoints of the race off Cape Road 250 that was made at that time, had
observed the airplane landed and reported that all four occupants had unhurt.
Of immediate elements of the Federal Police and Civil Defence led by the deputy Raul Camacho and Unzón coordinator Cabo San Lucas Joaquin Tellez Alamo

Cabo San Lucas, BCS-After the emergency reported yesterday was because the aircraft was reporting technical problems and was preparing to land in the
area of Migriño 30 kilometers from the airport of this city, came the first doubts about the mysterious fact.

Crew members were identified as Matt Hale, Justin Hale, Hale and Arthur Kell Caitlyn (pilot), were taken to receive medical care under the bridge of
Migriño, but were eager to leave the site for the airport and only gave their names to Civil Protection.
It is not known at the time of his whereabouts. All that has transpired, as is published in today's edition of the newspaper THE VOICE OF THE ROPE, is
that the Ministry of Defence has opened an inquiry because the site is not presented or elements of the PGR, or Immigration, much less the State
Ministerial Police.

gracias Mike...it's just rather odd they just got driven to the airport and sort of disappeared and didnt deal with the police or anything and now in
the comment section of the newspaper there are lots of wild speculations being thrown around....kinda caught my interest.

it is corporation owned, 1979 model 182 Q
Based at Westlake village CA. [ventura county]
probably legitimate tourists and had a mech issue. Perhaps some of their party flew comm'l.

Another press article stated that the plane's owner/pilot had previously been charged with selling airplane parts to China....something fishy
here....

The results of some checking around by Fulano. The airplane that crashed is registered to a company named "Interaero, Inc." in Westlake Village, CA.
The president of Interaero, Inc. is the named pilot, Arthur Lee Hale. He has a private pilot license, with no instrument rating.
His company, Interaero, Inc. has been in trouble. It is an aircraft parts company and was convicted of a felony for exporting aircraft parts to China
in 2004. Apparently only the company was convicted, not the President, Arthur Hale.

The local Baja California Sur newspapers are saying everybody on the crashed plane hurried to the airport at Cabo San Lucas to catch a flight out of
Mexico. Based upon the distances traveled, I'd guess the pilot ran of gas 30 miles before his destination of Cabo San Lucas."

It sounds like this plane landed in the middle of a race on the road up to Candaleria....and folks were on the scene...and unlikely that the plane was
ransacked while the pilot and passengers were there...
Still, a bit of a mystery
