First by Buckboard,

Last week with our Cabalgata, today by sea . . . the Virgin goes to church.

The is the buckboard August 30, 2012 with the Virgin de Loreto returning to Loreto from her annual visit to the ranches around San Javier.

Now we are taking her back to the Mission in Loreto.

Wow...that virgin is riding in style!!! I bet she is happy to get out and about...a little escape from her glass box. Lucky girl gets to visit the ranches....how lovely!

I thought our virgin Asuncion was lucky riding in a pangita on a trailer around town and out to the Island too!

what a kick butt buckboard...is it rented out for visitors to ride around in?

Shari,
I had that buckboard built this last winter from the base of a Ford Aerostar.
We use it for the parades and I take to to the easier Cabalgatas.

I was going to take it to San Ignacio for their July 31st event, but did not.
Maybe next year I will take it to San Ignacio for their event and leave it with Oscar so I can make it back up to your event August 14.

Did not make it again this year, so have a plan now to haul everything to Oscar's and leave the animals and gear there - to return in 2 weeks to go to Asuncion.
Too long a haul in the heat from Lopez Mateos - twice in a month.

But the buckboard is here in Loreto or in Lopez and is available. We have a car dolly to use to haul it around and Alazan - the macho mule pulls the buckboard.
He has the harness and training for it.

Just have to let me know where to be when and we'll go!!!

Have buckboard will travel, I guess.

that would be wonderful...it would be so cool to use in a Cabalgata...ours is mostly on highway and good road and could take some of the abuelitas maybe! It would be fun to do like hay rides in the old days.

I was searching all the faces of riders here this year wondering which one was you!!!! maybe next year we will ride it together!

No, I would have definitely connected with you, but Oscar called and he was sick and not going, so I didn't want to trek all the way back to San Ignacio to go by myself.

Definitely an carry some abuelitas. It is a really nice ride in the buckboard!

And have a frame on it now, so if need to put up some shade - it's possible.

Also it can carry Ice water!

It is for Cabalgatas all over Baja Sur. Say Comonduenos, but it's a good thing for all.

I'm game.

Santa Agueda is a nice riding area - south of Santa Rosalia.
