any source for real whipping cream in Ensenada?

Hi all,

5 years here now and all we can find is that Pastry pride stuff thats basically kinda disgusting, artificial, and Lycott at Walmart but it has guar (sp?) gum in it, the consistency is all wrong.

Anybody know a spot that has just unadulterated heavy cream/whipping cream (30-35%)?

I have found "real' whipping cream at Smart & Final and also at Wal-Mart in Ensenada.....but it's hit and miss. Don't know about El Roble.....maybe somebody nob driving south can score for you????

On edit......check COSTCO

Jeez, they've got a ton of it the real stuff (aerosol Challenge) in the refrigerated lockers in both Guerrero Negro and Vizcaino. It's more fun to buy thick bulk cream and whip up a storm, add "azucar glass" and add it if necessary as you are whipping up the thick cream and want to sweeten it. Some thick cream comes in jars, others in plastic tubs. "Crema natural o dulce" Crema acidificado is sour cream.

GET YOURSELF ONE OF THESE....

...and make your own whipped cream! They work very well and are easy to use! My brother uses this type of dispenser in his restaurant and has always been very happy with the results.

They can be ordered online from many cooking supply and catalogs companies. I'm pretty sure you can get them for much less and I believe there is a smaller version for home use.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Actually found the real deal at Mercado robles (near the Santo Thomas wine spot downtown) from Alta Dena.

McFez I used one of those in high school doing whippets with ballons.... NOS is not just for at the dentist:tumble:

Check with Herb Albert - a few years ago he seemed to have no problem finding a ton of it in Tijuana.
