click on the american flag for english and then check your email for a confirmation.

The best thing to do is to buy your fishing license where you will fish so the funds to directly to enforcement in that area. The government is trying to make them easily available in most areas. For example, I sell them here in Asuncion.

Just fyi, to others... a fishing license is not needed for shore (beach) fishing, only if on the water (boat/ kayak).

They are available in Los Barriles at the Pharmacy in the Los Gaviotos strip center.

It is my understanding that this site is having technical difficulties in processing fishing licenses currently.

The above link is accessible from this page as well:

We are out of licenses here too and apparently the new government has not printed up "their" new version for distribution yet...according to the fisheries dudes...so maybe that is the problem with that old website too...same thing goes for the biosphere bracelets...the new ones havent arrived yet.

One more thing....According to Conapesca, a fishing license is no longer required for persons under 18.

FYI that must be regional because in CSL waters if the passenger (not necessarily an angler) appears older than 6 a valid angler license must be on board for them. YMMV

I finally got one printed up from a machine in the Mega in San Jose del Cabo.
Extra 65 pesos for "printing fee";
NOT WATERPROOF by any means.
The machine is further from the door than the ATMs, almost to the other side, past the cuban cigar shack and stuff.
I think it says "servicios turisticos" or something.
A person shows up to help you print it up and take your money.

One year, not calendar year. The online version and one's I've purchased through an agent both allow you to specify a start date so you can control the time frame. Buy ahead for next month. Annual cost Jan 2013 was $ 553 M.N. + fees, month cost was $ 415 M.N.

The license was good for one year from date of purchase.
At the machine, I think it was 595 or 605 or 615 pesos.

Other options included daily and weekly, and you choose what day it starts.
