Baja 1000 coming.......Highways busy mid Nov...

...haven't seen anything posted,,so thought I'd stick this up.....

The Baja 1000 off road race runs the length of the peninsula this year. Here is a link to the course maps and an excellent link to Google Earth. Links on the right side of the page. The Google Earth information contains exact details of the entire course. The dates are 14 - 17 November. Remember the roads will be dangerous to travel during this time frame. Support vehicles will be traveling at high speed to get to their next pit stop. Be careful out here!!! www.score-international.com)

..edit...oops,,,can't seem to find the google link,,,maps posted below....

...hmmm,,,I think it's not a bad idea to get the news out to more than just off-road fans,,,the highways will be rather busy with pit-teams racing on the highways!:o

Well, that is true.. but the best way to not miss posts here is to click on 'TODAY'S POSTS' when viewing Nomad... You see ALL new activity for the past 3-4 days from all the Baja forums. Now, if you only read Nomad once a week then you should go to the individual forums of interest and scan them for anything you may wish to read.

Traditionally, all off road racing news is found in the Off Roading forum here... Just makes finding info on the race that much easier to find...

Exactly what I was doing... helping this Nomad see where the race maps and information was already posted... So I wonder why you didn't?

...with all due respect Dave,,,my point is that there'll be MUCH potentially dangerous activity ON the highways because of this (off-road) event,,,regular folk should perhaps be forewarned!

.thanks for the 'how-to-read-baja-nomad' tutorial though

;D

As I said earlier, what you say is true... That you didn't find anything about the race already was the purpose of my helping you (and countless others) with a method to see ALL new Baja posts quickly without the tedious searching through a zillion separate forums.

You are 100% correct that the month before a race and the race itself means extra traffic (and sometimes speeding) on the main roads in Baja. :light:
