New Truck

A friend of mine ask me to ask this question. What kind of paperwork is needed if one person buys a new truck & has someone else drive it down ? Ins., reg. in owners name not drivers name.
Thanks

When I got my truck and insured it, I made sure they added Baja Angel's name to the policy as well (this was before we got married)... A 'stranger' to the insurance company driving another person's vehicle is best taken care of BEFORE the trip.

The next best thing to do (IMO) is to get a notarized letter granting permission for the driver to operate the truck, from the owner.

CURRENT registration is important

a letter explaining what you are doing is important

insurance is IMPORTANT with lawyer assistance

but the notarized part is "made up"
there is NO rule about that

a named driver is only good in the USA and different states have different rules...

all you need to do is make the insurance company aware others will be driving your truck

just get DL insurance for mexico
that way ANY american plated car you drive in baja you're covered
