Survey crews working road south of BOLA??
2 weeks ago, while driving about 3 miles south of town, we came across a survey crew working the road - newly red painted rocks all over the place.
Rumors flying fast about the road getting paved.
Anyone actually know anything about this?

I would love to see the road south out of BOLA paved, at least to Gecko, the road is in bad shape and makes the ride to town suck. Hell while they
are at it electricity would also be a welcome site, no more generator running out of fuel in the middle of the night and popping circuit breakers.

that you bought there knowing it was 4 dirt miles from town and didn't have electricity?
In fact, just a few years ago there was no power in town after 10/11 pm... the town generator shut down and a sky full of stars lit up!
Be careful what you wish for in a place you wanted that once was hundreds of miles from all that 'civilization'!

Indeed! Ironic... and I think age has something to do with it as well... the older we get, the less 'roughing it' seems like 'fun'!
I don't want to get old... I want to keep roughing it... I just don't know how to stop the time machine!

Oh for sure... I turned 55 and now I get to order off that special menu at Coco's ... LOL!
Why is it I still want to play in the sand, but I need glasses to read fine print now??!!

There is plenty of water there Its just the matter of dealing with the govrrment, they controll all resources.
I grew up in Skeeter country and water was scarce but with the new deep well tech. they irrigate there now. same for Baja when it becomes cost
efective they will drill,

You see what the town does for water? The spring on the hillside wasn't enough... and the ground water south of the bay is thermal (hot water)... and
close to the bay would be salty... so they have a well out at the dry lake and that pipe along the highway brings it to the town. But, as you say...
new technology in drilling will be what may cure L.A. Bay's needs? Either for water, or like in North Dakota, find oil!
