Sierra San Pedro Martir park closed
Just an FYI for those thinking of heading up to the park.... don't!
The Proteccion Civil has declared the park closed due to excessive snow accumulation. Up to 70 cm has fallen (30 inches) so best to wait till some of
it has melted or has been cleared away.

Shortcuts to enter La Sierra located to the South of the municipality of Ensenada, Baja California will be closed until further notice, due to a
snowstorm that struck the area on Monday morning, reported the Directorate of civil protection.
Alfredo Escobedo, head of the State agency said that approximately at 10 in the morning of this day in the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir was recorded a
copious snowfall; Unable to clean as much snow, they decided to close the entrances.
Although so far it has been impossible to enter the area, calculated on the basis of records of the season the snow could reach between 24 and 30
inches of snow.
Escobedo urged national and foreign tourists to cancel their trips in the areas situated in the skirts of the Rumorosa, located between the
municipality of Tecate and Mexicali, as well as to the area of the Sierra de Baja California in Ensenada.
And it is that according to the weather service of the United States will be next Thursday which arrecien the snowfall in the mountainous region of
Baja California.

I'm sure some folks from the coast will come up with in their family sedan complete with bald tires to see the snow. Most come with barely a proper
jacket. I'm sure the park rangers dread snow days since they have to drag countless people out of the ditch!
