nice photos Ken, I can see you know what you are doing. can you tell me some about your camera and how you shot these?

Thanks for the comments. Usually for sunset/sunrise shots I will use a tripod and a long exposure. The two sunrise shots were 3.2 seconds and 5
seconds. I use a remote control shutter release to eliminate camera shake. Using a tripod allows using a low ISO (100) for reduced noise in the
image. The sunset shot was not planned, it was handheld using a high ISO. What little noise was in the image was reduced in editing. I use Adobe
Lightroom for my editing these days. The sensor in the Sony is the same size as my Nikon DSLR, but with 50% more mp's.
These current shots were all taken with a Sony NEX 7 24 mp. It is a mirrorless camera and is very compact. With 4 lenses ranging from 12mm to 210mm
it is 1/3 the weight and bulk of my Nikon DSLR with equivalent lenses. With an adapter i can use all my Nikkor lenses on it as well as some vintage
pentax lenses I haven't used since the 70's. It's a lot of fun using those fast old lenses!!!
The bulk of the rest of the images in SmugMug are taken with Nikon DSLR's. All of my images are single exposure, no HDR's.

thanks for the info, you dont put me to sleep at all. for me it is very interesting to get the camera settings when looking at good photos , I learn
alot that way.
I am shooting with a Canon D650 SLR now and also use Lightroom and Photoshop for post production sense I shoot everything in Raw.

I wasn't worried about you falling asleep, but the non-photographers.
When viewing the individual galleries in SmugMug hover your cursor over the large image and a popup window will show, just click the box with the "i"
in it and it will show the camera settings. (There will be missing information on the images taken with 3rd party lenses using an adapter.)

Igor,
No it has a DX sized sensor, same as the (DX) DSLR's. The same sensor, in fact, as in the Nikon D7K that I own. It uses the APS-C sensor which is
roughly 2/3's the size of the full frame (FX).

I do and thanks. Quite often I have the same feeling viewing your photos.
Bring a jacket on the sunrise shots. I was cold standing in the dark at the Old Mill setting up for that shot.

I agree --- I love reading all the info--- it is all very interesting and educational. Nice, really nice images. Number 2 is my personal
favorite. There is a lot going on in that image and light and color are great. Just stunning.
Mirrorless and light weight, just sounding better all the time. Rumor is that Canon may come out with a second generation --- improved version this
year. Waiting and thinking.
