The Bat Cave of Santiago (Nov. 2012 article)

Baja Geoff has added three of my articles recently and placed them in months of November, December, and February on the Baja Travel Adventures web page: http://www.bajabound.com/bajatravel/

This was a fun side trip that begins where the La Ribera/ Cabo Pulmo highway leaves Mex. 1: http://www.bajabound.com/bajatravel/the_bat_cave_of_santiago...

Looks like a cool side-trip! A miniature Carlsbad Caverns!

Indeed... Baja Angel really dug going in there, and getting close to the bats (as possible)... you could feel the air move as they whizzed over our heads (just a few of them).

We did Carlsbad Caverns in '08 and liked it so well, we really want to go back and this time book one of the special tours where you wear a miners cap ('Left Hand Tour' ?).

The ticket is good for three days I recall. Do the guided tour into the Kings Chamber where they turn off the lights so you can experience pure darkness. Great fun.
