gonzaga bola and side trips to bahia las animas and guadalupe

took a short 3 day run out of san felipe, stayed at the playas of rancho grande in gonzaga. 10 bucs for the palapa on the beach. and 45 pesos for the showers located by the store. next day drove down to bahia las animas. road was in bad shape first 18 miles south of bola because of the last weeks bola 300 race. the trip out to las animas was smooth. On 3rd day out of bola (stayed at camp echelon, 8 bucs a head for palapa and cots) headed to Bahia Guadalupe. This is an easy smooth run for any 2wd truck. a fun road that gives you all the best baja has to offer, lake bed, canyons, sandy wash, and the beach, appx 26 miles from the asphalt to the water, and not another sole in sight. got some pics ill try to post later.

Great... we went to Bahia Guadalupe and Punta Candeleros way back in 2002... 2WD the whole way and beautiful canyons... I posted a GPS guide to them both on my web site. There was a lot of talk of that be dangerous to go to because of drug runners using that beach to drop off product. Nice to hear you had a good time. Bahia Guadalupe is also called Remedios on some older maps, books.
