need FMM for less than 7 day stay?
Do I need to get an FMM to go to LA Bay for a week (7 days) ?
I do know I do not need an auto permit and I do have insurance...

Yup
I vote yes, you are below the so-called "Tourist Zone". Cars do not need a permit in Baja. Be legal, be safe, get your FMM.

Yes, and 7 days or less is free...

Have read, not verified, that a guy receiving a free
6nt 7 day fmm at SY, was told expressly to return
it upon departure, I've returned them at Mexicali
but would ahve no idea where to return 1 at TJ,
I know you can mail it in

Taking things in Mexico "with a grain of salt" is not only for Margaritas.
I've, at last, given up on verbal directives in Mexico, especially second hand. Now I require to see it in writing from a qualified source.
This current immigration guessing game has worn me out.

I was told this by one of the guys at immigration. I asked him where it is that you turn them in when coming back and he said there is a place on the
northbound side. I asked where the place was and about parking. His short reply: "parking is your problem" That was it! Never told me where the
office was. Viva Mexico!

Dennis,
If you turn over an FMM on the top right hand side just under the word IMPORTANT in red ink is says the form must be turned in upon departure from
Mexico...Official Gov. document in writing.......Or if it is an older one the same is on the front top.....

The address to mail your FMM back in (before it expires) has been posted on Nomad... and it has changed at least once. Discover Baja Travel Club has
provided the address, as well.
The ONLY place where they (sometimes) check if you have an FMM is at the state border near Guerrero Negro, on Hwy. 1.
I have yet to see any kiosk or collection box for FMMs in any border line, northbound. If they really wanted them back, it wouldn't be a hard thing to
do.
