Why some hates the incoming high tide.....
This picture was snapped by akshadow that I swiped from him from another website. It's a gang of poor fellows that got stuck WAY out there :-( in
San Felipe. I believe that high water is something like 18 feet at that spot.
Just a good reason why one should not venture so far into the low tide with their car.

Good reminder. I'm very cautious of this stuff now after the small issue I almost had with an incoming tide down at Scorpion Bay.

Used to see a stuck 4x4 pretty regularly... People would see me camping on Shell Island, and try to drive across the (Percebu) lagoon to reach it.
Ken Cooke took some photos of us pulling out a Jeep Cherokee owned by a Mexicali policeman (I know have a name to drop if I have any problems there,
lol).
Here was another who tried to come out to the island, the wrong way!

What ever happened to those really high vehicles with big tires that were
used to take people out to the boats at low tide in San Felipe during the 60s -70s?

Kinda, sorta. I think the one I remember had very large tires and you could almost walk under it. Picked us up at our motel and drove out to boat on
ground about 1/4 mile offshore. Could have been some sort of old military vehicle or one for moving logs between the wheels. Been about 50 years ago
that I saw it in San Felipe.

Because photos posted on the internet are the property of the photographer that created them. Would akshadow mind, probably not, but it is common
courtesy non the less. It is a huge problem for photographers that find their work being used for commercial purposes by others, or being claimed by
others as being their creation.

Watermark everything....even the watermark. Those who make no effort to protect their work, mainly from vanity, wanting everyone to see the work at
it's best, only ask for trouble.
I think Ken Bondy has found some of his work in the wrong hands and it's like having your children kidnapped.
I would imagine that, since the internet came on the scene, stock photo agencies have taken a hard hit.

I don't know what your talking about me trolling you. What gave you that idea? You seem to have some thin skin if a simple question should generate
this much anger.
My point is you said you swiped it from another. That statement means you didn't ask permission. Even posting his name does meet the letter of the
law. My post is to clarify the issue of posting other persons photos without their permission, that's all. Many are not aware of this technicality.

I choose to not watermark them, as many photographers don't. My photo's are copyrighted in the file and can be proven in court with that metadata.
Vanity has nothing to do with it Dennis, it's laziness to some extent. Photography is only a hobby for me as well.

My Smugmug photos are all low res images not original size. the real value of photos are the high res versions. As I said to Dennis all my images
have a copyright tag in the metadata, legally that isn't necessary. I have never refused permission to anyone that has asked to copy my work, by the
way.

If someone posts a pic on the internet, without following what most suggest to do, prior to putting it up ...... no harm, no foul IMHO ....
FYI, please don't contact me, on any of MY photos ....... I really don't care who uses them ...... the "net" was supposed to be a free highway with a
free exchange of data, information and a few other things ..... without regard for "ownership" of product ...... ya know ... like Linux
