Border report from today, Wednesday. 4/3/13

We crossed north from Baja at about 12:00 pm at Otay Mesa, using the Ready Lane.

One hour and five minutes in line, counting the fifteen minutes we spent chatting with the ICE agent at the booth who was curious about our service dog and wanted to know about hubby's experiences growing up in Hawaii.

I am sure the other people waiting behind us were becoming very impatient, but you can't shut down a government official if he wants to talk.

You did good. That agent probably put a smiley face next to your name in the database.

How were the Ready Lanes compared to the "regular" lanes??

Recently, the regular lanes were shorter in length than the ready lanes

Maybe Twenty or Thirty Minutes Slower

I try to keep myself amused by watching how fast the lanes go.

As far as taking my info as fact - Your Mileage May Vary.

The guys in the bright yellow shirts selling temp auto insurance were pretty lethargic today.

Sadly, I didn't find any vendors with fresh churros.
