Man escapes from jail through a toilet hole in Tijuana - Mexican authorities claim it was a small error
From San Diego Red
"On March 30, 2013 a man identified as Hugo "N" of 30 years of age was arrested after being accused of being a drug dealer. But this type of arrest is
not big news or even something new in Mexico.
The strange thing about this arrest is that while this man was in custody; he escaped from his cell through a toilet hole at the Office of the General
Prosecutor of the State (PGJE) detention center.
While the man was alone and unsupervised, he first took apart the toilet, and then escaped through a small hole. This information was given by the
PGJE, ensuring that this is only a minor error from their staff and a flaw in the building structure."

I almost got to witness a jail break of around 80 men at the prison, north-east of Ensenada.
One morning I went to a mechanic's taller which was next to the prison. I got there a little too early so I had to wait a bit, and while waiting, I
walked over to the prison an saw, coming out of the side rear of the wall, a dripping three foot drain pipe, which I thought nothing of at the moment.
The mechanic arrived and I took care of business and left.
Later in the evening as I watched the local news, the camera was on, of all things, that same drain pipe coming from the prison wall.
Seems that earlier in the day, a well orchestrated prison escape took place right out of that pipe and a lot of men were still at large.
The warden and his staff were arrested and they eventually apprehended most, not all, of the ecapees.
Had I hung around the prison wall a bit longer, I could have cheered them on as they drained from the pipe.
OK....that's the end of that story.
