Oh How I LOVE the photos of the first ride horse training. The blindfold is interesting. Where the ears pinned back too, or was that all the horses doing? In one of the photos it looks like the rider is putting the ears forward, or is he reaching up to lift the blindfold? This is very interesting to me. I would love to hear about the ranch style process, how and why it works. I helped train Tennessee Walkers for their first ride, and it was a long, drawn out process.

Thank you so much for your efforts in sharing your baja life with us.

Ranch coffee! We used to call it Cowboy coffee.

Really really really cool pictures, thanks.

Pure poetry, thanks.

Won't make the Purisima/Paso Hondo ride with you all... have to head north for a short while.

Hope to ride with you in another cabalgata.

Loved the photos as always.

I hope this Sunday Morning Western becomes a Nomad series! love it love it love it...and that stove is exceptional...I am envious...wonder where it came from or was specially made? it's brilliant

Paulina...have you seen Corazon Vaquero? there is an excellent segment on breaking in a new horse that shows the whole blindfold technique....looks like this horse was pretty calm or did we miss the bucking photo?
