Agua Verde?
Did I read on here not long ago that the road is not passible? Anybody know? thanks...

Edit to add from TW's trip report:
"We go east toward Agua Verde on the dirt road. Past San Jose de la Norias we start down the mountain and find the road damaged. Rudy and Fred walk
down further and come back telling us nothing is getting thru. Holes as big as a kitchen table or larger. whole sections wiped out. So close yet so
far. Back to CD Constitucion."

I do think TW was talking about the south (or west) road, that isn't on all maps. The main road from Hwy. 1, top of the mountain, just south of Ligui
(Loreto) is open or not closed for long after storms.

There are two roads into Agua Verde: The main one is the "northern" road that turns south off Hwy 1 between Ciudad Insurgentes and Loreto; the
second is a rough road that comes in from the "west" ....this is the road that was impassable w/4 wheels....some friends recently rode it on
dirtbikes.
Don't believe everything you think....

I did part of that road on a Mule and it was quite an adventure. Glad I had 4 hooves and not 4 wheels.

I did that road many times, and it was a special adventure when towing my Adventure trailer. Glad I had my G-wagen with 3 lockers and not a mule

Does anyone happen to have recent experience with the road off of the graded road onto the beach where the old abandoned palapa is? I am heading into
there in a couple of weeks and am curious.

Larry & chuckie...please give our regards to Martin Amador...the local cop...he can arrange to get you a lovely little goat or lamb to BBQ! he and
his family will even prepare the whole deal for you at his ranch in the little village just before Agua Verde proper..it's a cool cultural experience
and scrumpdelicious! He's a good contact to have there too. Here's what ya do...first you go with Martin to the chivo ranch...choose one that isnt too
cute, go drink some beer on the beach while he does the dirty work....go to his ranch and feast.
We try to bring a bag of clothes or whatever to them..they are very appreciative of anything you can donate.

Thanks for the info, we will take whatever we can find to donate to the family. Once we get to the beach and set up camp our vehicles are pretty much
anchored down and not drivable, do you think he would deliver? Or could we go in by boat and pick up the dinner? We'll see what happens, but no matter
what we will go in and say "Hi" for you.

Last time we were there, Martin didnt have a vehicle...he walks to work in Agua Verde from the ranch...or gets picked up by passing vehicles...but
yes, he may be able to arrange for you to pick it up in the village via boat..maybe give someone gas money to get the goat...you know everything is
possible in baja! You can beach by his little casa at that beach with the palm stand and walk the path to his house...or ask at that little beach
where the yachties hang out...he is often there on the porch of that house...just ask anyone for him...go for the lamb if they are available...but
those baby goats are some delicious too!

He is willing to cook it if I buy it.....

We always bring an empty cooler especially for that purpose...to bring back fresh, lovely, organic meat from there...it's a great deal too...save me a
little bag of it!!!

I'll bet! You'd have one hard time getting a mule train to carry all the creature comforts you pack in that G-wagen of yours.

Yeah, you can say that loud.....
I have to admit, that road got damaged pretty hard by the hurricane last October, and we had to turn around driving back to Constitucion. Doesn't
happen very often with our rigs
