I fail to see how such an ID would reduce the border wait times.

We already have a US issued RFID passport, and IT has failed to produce any significant border-crossing wait times.

The enhanced DL would enable people to use the Ready Lanes which is, in fact slower sometimes than the regular lanes.

The enhanced Dl may seem to be a solution to faster border crossing, but may probably make the lines/wait longer

I could not get the link to go, I remember somewhere the
$ of an enhanced lic, was to be $75 or so, the Passcard
is less than that, even if bought alone, if they would make
it a $5 add on, I could see it working. Have heard that
producing just a regular Ca DL to Customs, does not
automatically cause a delay in crossing, that actually MAY be faster, reported 70% of crossers back have the required
documents
