Hola bajablanca,

here is a copy & paste from my list of services. i have heard from many different people in los barriles and in la paz about this father and son opthalmology group.

you want to make an appointment with the son as he is up to date with all the current U.S. technology and equipment.

one person i spoke with in los barriles told me the young lechuga did corrective work on his detached retina that was not available in the U.S. and the doctor corrected his vision very satisfactorily.

i hope all works out for you whomever you use.

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

I have glaucoma so have to go to an ophthalmologist.  Have been going to him for five years.
However, his cost is $40 per visit and he is very thorough.  Speaks excellent English .  Young.  His father is also an ophthalmologist.
There is a "glasses" store right next door, but one can do better, price wise, in the greater La Paz area.
Dr. Lechuga (Fausto Miguel Lechuga Ortiz) is located next door to the Fidepaz hospital.  (the purple one on the way to the airport).
I have two phone numbers: 621-124-1651 and 612-124-0400.  I believe the young man who works for me makes my appointments using the 0400 number, which goes through the hospital.  Dr. Lacuna's hours are 10a.m.-2 p.m. and 4: p.m. - ?  .

Are you sure you are not looking for a bird expert? Oops, that's a Ornithologist.

Funny Howard! So, i went to visit Lecguga son at Fidepaz, and he is out of town, so i saw his substitute, Dr Izaak Zuniga. He did every test possible and came to the conclusion that i do NOT have glaucoma being that my pressure was at 15.

Then he said that i do not need glasses, it is the cataract that is annoying my eye.

All of the above for 600 pesos. Thanks everyone for the referral!

Blanca

Great news but now you have to have the cataract removed.
