The local economy appears a little better than last year but there are many empty shops around town.
I will sorely miss the Black Angus arrachera, it was fantastic over a wood fired BBQ.

Sad news.
Where do I get the mascarpone cheese for my tiramisu now?
I have a feeling a pared down smaller version of Dali will surface somewhere in town in the future.
We all loved them a lot here.

The new Soriana consequence?

Gosh we sure hope so! They are a terrific hardworking customer-service oriented couple. And very nice young folks, and they love/treat their doggies
like we do and gee whiz this is a sad thing for us mid-staters.
Our list of 'gonna miss' foods is too long to type.
OK kids...we will cross our toes that Loretana's prediction will come true.

Soriana pulled out. Lay will have a store here by the fall, though. I doubt either had anything to do with the decision. they're headed to La Paz,
no doubt will do very well there. we wish them the best and will miss them here in Loreto.
reality\'s never been of much use out here...

I would go out on a limb here and say that, if the truth were to be known, the landlord of the building is raising the rent to a point where it did
not make economic sense to ride it out any further.

So, we'll have another empty building in the foreseeable future, joining the many others. Good business sense.
Even te location of the new Ley store doesn't make much sense. Independencia is one of the narrowest streets in town with nasty speed bumps. Lots of
better places all over town.
