Alfonsinas question and quick report

Looking to book a room at Alfonsinas June 15-18. I tried the website but it doesn't work. What are the chances of getting a room? Will they sleep 3 comfortably? Is this number any good (664) 648-1951 ?

Just got back from 3 days in Gonzaga. It was so good I want to go back asap! About of dozen of us camped at Beluga and fished from kayaks. Weather, fishing, and compay were all top notch!

My FJ wasn't happy that the road is nearly completely paved, but she was happy to finally hit dirt

Winds were up at night and mostly an onshore breeze during the day making for cool, comfortable wather

I'm a cabrilla fishing addict! My favorite species to target. This trip I got them on topwater and watching them explode on my baits was outrageous! I got them on Waxwings, weedless plastics, and poppers in anywhere from 5-15 feet of water ranging from 3-10 lbs. and missed one that had to be around 20 lbs.

Looking to go back with a buddy in his boat but he will only go if we can rent a room. Too spoiled to camp I suppose. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Wonderful trip report and a A+ for your photo posting!

Don't think Alfonsina's is too busy in June, but have you tried calling their message number?

We were at Alfonsinas about 2 weeks ago. We caught some fish but nothing that large. We had the restaurant cook the fish and the tortillas were out of this world.

The prices are up a bit. $65 per night, I think a year ago we paid $50 a night

We called and made the reservations about 3 weeks before and mailed in the deposit.

Then bring sleeping gear, just in case! There are also cabins for rent at El Sacrificio (take same road as you did for Beluga, and continue south). Not sure if Papa Fernandez has any cabins for rent... but 5 miles north, Punta Bufeo Resort does (last I heard).

No plug ins and no AC? I didn't go by Sacrificio this trip but I remember a couple years ago there were some mobile/modular home looking places there for rent. Does anyone happen to have any info on that?

Sacrificio has AC units, but no shower head, just a stocking to disperse the water:(

We (specially the wife and daughter) didn't like the atmosphere when we had a look in 2011. edm1 arrived right after we left, in his 4WD motorhome, and liked the folks there, he stayed in his coach, naturally. I think we were quoted $60 a night? We chose to not get sacrificed... and drove to El Rosario/ Baja Cactus, arriving easily before sundown and had a great couple of nights.

El Sacrificio:

It is a rather odd place, with the plastic bus station seats and the ground crawling with fuzzy caterpillars. the new bar and restaurant is really nice and im sure with a group of friends it could be alot of fun!
here's a photo taken down on the beach in 2011.

Right on man across the bay! Never stayed when we would really need a/c but the rooms in back facing Papa Fernandez had a/c units and we assumed they started the generator on really hot nights. We've stayed in several rooms an we figured no ac plugs to avoid taxing their small solar system. Don't miss out on the chile rellenos at the Papa Fernandez camp!
