Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

Ya well, harrumph, back in my day at the Wedge is was duck feet and speedos only. No sponges, and certainly no boards. If ya did wear your trunks they would end up around your ankles at the end of the speed run. You would start off over on the side wave on a medium sized swell and just fly across the face as it jacked up.

You would go home with sand in places you didn't know you had places. Lucky I didn't break my neck.

That would have been a perfect day at the Wedge. When it got big I'd be a watcher.
In my late teens and early 20's there were no boggy boards or short boards. Just you and your Churchils (sp). :bounce:

Just teasing you. I knew what you meant.

I had heard that when you wipe out at that place you could end up on the rocks. I had a roommate in college (Tim) who had these huge scars on his back. He told me it was from getting wiped out at the 'Pipeline' in Hawaii. He said it's 2 feet deep there and when you wipe out you bounce off the coral.

Only young bodies can handle that kind of impact, after sessions like this the fishing for bsp and the like would be good something about stirring the bottom up I think?
