It is a toll road now? How much is the toll.... wow, I did not pay a toll the last time I used that 2000 road turnoff from Popotla.

It's not a toll road. You only have to pay if you're getting off the regular toll road onto Blvd 2000, because you were on the toll road and they are collecting for that. I think you can get on for free from the free road by Foxploration. If I'm wrong I will apologize.

I agree. For years ones had to exit the coastal toll route South and make a right turn. Since they finally built a connector, the toll you are paying is because you won't be paying a toll at Rosarito. BLVD 2000 is not a toll road, itself.

That said, cliffh , since you are coming from Ensenada, you really ought to consider heading up to Tecate, which, outside of the peak weekend times, has a MUCH shorter wait.

Stay in the left lane at the gate if you do, and if you aren't sure of your driving skills, don't.

Sorry, they are right, is only to get off the road, but it will take you to border. and they don't close the road if it's busy!

So, they finally opened the toll road/Blvd 2000 connector interchange? In both directions?

Stopped using Blvd 2000 two or three years ago as the old (newly paved, four lane) free road was so bad when trying to pull a large trailer. And, the military checkpoint at the final right turn onto Blvd 2000 just added insult to injury ......

You're not paying to get onto Blvd 2000; you're paying 25 pesos to get off the toll road' The exit off the toll road is clearly marked "Blvd 2000 salida proximo 3 km before at Puerto Nuevo and then at the exit about even with Baja studios. If you have passport CARD or other with a RFID chip I suggest you go past the usual Gratia Otay turnoff to the Aeropuerto turn off and the take the San Diego I 5 exit to get in the Ready Pass lineup.

That bl2000 is a very dangerous road. Small cars stop in the fast lane to illegally, what else, to turn around into te opposite direction. 2 weeks ago I was sure to be in an accident, missed a car by a split second. I couldn't stop the motorhome soon enough.

For dogs as well. It's "slaughter alley' for them. Their brain-dead owners walk across and their dog follows, gets caught in the brain-dead traffic and gets hit.
That's the worst part of that crummy road for me.
