Dog food in Rosarito

Hi fellow dog lovers! I'm staying near Rosarito and I need to buy some dog food. Did I do the arithmetic wrong or is it like twice as expensive compared to the states? I usually buy Pedigree dry and canned. Where to you locals buy dog food? Is there a comparable Mex brand?

In Rosarito there is the Super Comercial Mexicana and the Calimax and the Walmart all on the north end as you enter the city, and they all carry Pedigree.

They are all very competitive and you won't pay much above, if at at all. U.S. prices.

If you are adventurous, go to one of the many graneros. They have bags from the Diamond Company in Chino, CA. Very good dry food.

Hate to disagree, but dog food down here is much more than in the states, but.....so what. When it comes to Fido, just buy it and move on.

Hi Dennis

Yes, I agree with you that premium labeled dog is more expensive.

However, we get 40 pund sacks of Diamond dog food (dry) for less than two hundreed pesos. It is U.S. produced and is very good.

That's the type of info I'm looking for. I'll check out the graneros. Thanks Gypsy Jan.

Best bet in Mexico is Costco, either in Ensenada or TJ as they have Kirkland for just about the U.S. price. It is hard to find a better dog food and it is rated quite high for the money. IT is all I will use. But it is the chicken and rice which is a higher rating for some reason. Here is an easier list to read: http://www.littledebstoyaussie.com/id21.html
