Down To Zero Tires

They just do not have my size down here :(

195X70X14

Blew out the last tire Monday. Now running on a bald emergency spare borrowed from the neighbors. The nearest size rubs on the wheel wheel, and zero new, used, stolen, etc. in BA. Vizcaino, or Guerrero Negro. Celso says he cannot find one in Ensenada.

If anyone can bring down two from Wal-Mart in Chula Vista, I can purchase them online. A little far to be hobbling to the market on a crutch. The tires can be left at a roadside Auto Parts Store in Vizcaino.

Mil Gracias.

I just gave a very nice 185/70r14 tire to Llantera Arce in La Bcana to sell if that will work for you. Came off of a Honda Accord.

or call him. I am sure he could order new ones for you

You could find them in Ensenada there are several name brand tire stores in Ensenada that way you don't have to fool around with the Border I ran Cooper tires on a Subaru I used to have that had a off size tire I found them at Sasha tire in Ensenada.
About the only difference in price I found is you don't have to pay the Federal Disposal fee that you would pay in the states.

Mil Gracias.

of course he can...in fact a phone call to ANY tire store and payment first will get the tires put on a bus

the border guys wont let you cross with un-mounted tires...
and...
there are all sizes in Baja already...
no need to have someone smuggle them across

BOB I NEED YOUR HELP ASAP

Obviously you speak Spanish better than I do. Because when I ask, they call their proveedor and ask.

"Lo Siento Mucho Pero Este Medidia No Existe En Clave ni Inventorio"

Try and find one in Mulege or Santa Rosalia. Talk is cheap.

A sixty dollar tire quickly becomes a three hundred dollar tire. Can someone call Social Insecurity and tell them to raise the bridge? I only need two tires = 1 month.

There is a yacht provision service that promises to deliver a box of Red Oval Crackers anywhere in the world for $1,600.00

But a nice thought Mulegena. Thank you.

More like a $60 tire becomes a $72 tire. Not that bad. I got turned around once at SY for unmounted tires, they wouldn't let me take them across for any price.

The last time I bothered to legally "import" a tire, was a 234X85X16" Michelin. It cost new including taxes $106.00

Aduana wrote out a nice receipt for me for the eqvt of forty three dollars which I paid at the Banjercito window. But that did NOT include 16% IVA which I paid separately. Aso at Banjercito.

Estafeta today estimated fifty seven dollars transport from Tijuana to Vizcaino for both tires.
But then the tires have to MIRACLE their way from the tire store to ADUANA.

Then MIRACLE their way from Aduana to the ESTAFETA office.

"Ring Ring"
"Hello I need a couple of tires delivered to Vizcaino"

"Where?"
"Vizcaino"

"I'm sorry sir our service is to like La Paz, La Riebera, Cabo San Lucas, you know"

"And sir, tires need special permission from Aduana, which we are not able to get".

A piece of cake Chucky. When I respond to someone on this forum for advice, I try my best to help. Help requires thinking unlike criticism.

Costco San Jose

How about this option?

Plugging in San Jose zip code, both Dunlop and Goodyear offered tires. $99 and $79.
