Lopez Fishing Tournament

Well, the 13th came and went, but today there actually was a tournament. The 13th was for paying and signing up and the meeting!

Today 25 boats went out. Lots of 4 and 5 K. tuna were brought in. No marlin and only 1 dorado.

Now they are getting ready for a dance at the Whale Watching Pier tonight.

Entrants got T-shirts - long sleeved and a dinner made by the Baja Mar Restaurant.

Pretty good for a first ever fishing tournament in Lopez.

Enjoyed seeing what looked like a successful and happy event! Thanks for sharing it. We have only been to Lopez Mateos once, and I think it is time for another visit.

Thanks Mula. Where is the next stop?

I'm going to try to make it this year.
I am taking the mules to San Ignacio and hopefully leaving them there for the 2 week interim.

Hopefully Oscar will be able to make it this year also.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm not much of an ocean fisherman anymore. Spent too many years on rough Alaskan waters to enjoy it much anymore. Fairweather, calm bay fishing is my cup of tea now.
