Rincon Colombiano and Lonely Baja Camping

This weekend, I took my wife to experience the 3rd Colombian Festival in Rosarito Beach, and to also camp out in La Salina, just because it is summer and what fun! The crowds are now filling Rosarito and Tijuana, and a 200-something strong crowd salsa danced at Rosarito Beach's Rincon Colombiano on July 13th to Grupo Kolao. Great live band! While the party was still gearing up, Leidys and I left for Tijuana to have dinner with friends at Vittorio's Italian Restaurant on Calle Revoluccion. As always, GREAT ITALIAN DINING - (semi) validated parking was convenient, but the throngs of people on Calle Revoluccion surprised me - empty store fronts are no longer empty. People packed downtown just like they did in the 1980s and 90s - before 9/11.

The next day, it was off to La Salina for 2 days and 1 night of beach camping - out of the back of the Honda Pilot. For the first time, camping supplies had to be walked across the rock barrier to a clean sandy spot - requiring multiple trips, but many burned calories. My mini grills were both destroyed by the elements, so cold tuna tostadas, fruit and snacks replaced grilled fish this time around.

On the trip back home, vists were made to La Jolla and Cardiff.:bounce: Both were worth the trouble finding parking and carting the camp chairs and food across the sand for a memorable dinner on the sand. Great Time!!

Leidys made friends with a woman from near where she is from in Barranquilla. I had a great time.

Here is a link to the great band that performed on Saturday - http://www.grupokolao.com.mx/

that Colombian party looks like fun - neat to see people dancing in between the tables.

DENNIS is displaying his lack of knowledge of Colombia, it's people, culture.

One facet of a country's legacy from a Neo-Con's perspective. What else do you know about Colombia? You don't. :!: That's why you are ignorant.
