what is your milage estimation...
I'm wondering what your best estimation is for how many miles it is to Bahia Asuncion from the San Ysidro/Tijuana border? I have a rough idea. I know
the answer exists on these boards somewhere, although I cant seem to find it, and need to know rather quickly as I am trying to reserve a car and some
agencies (at least 2 that I have researched thus far) have a mile limit on how far down into Baja you can go. I'm really looking for a rental agency
that it doesn't have a limit, and I'm just starting my search so I may come across one! But it's good to know the magic number! thank you!!!

From TJ to Vizcaino looks to be about 505 miles/813 KMs +/-
Add about another 45 miles/75KM's +/- to BA .....looking at about 550 miles/890KM's +/-...........however YMMV

LOL Yes, our milage may vary, especially with 4 out of 6 of us being women, and me being a live in the moment type of person, never know where you'll
end up going! I'm dreaming of a side trip to those hot sand/mud springs on the beach in Ensenada and who knows where else one might wander! Thanks

According to this Mexican Gov. website it is 899KN or 539 miles...

It's more than that... I think 45 miles is to the Asuncion turnoff from the Tortugas road... add 25 more to get to Shari's!

25.2 (Km.0) Junction with Vizcaino-Bahia Tortugas highway 11:05am. Turn east.
70.0 Vizcaino at Highway #1 12:00pm. Gas station is 0.3 mile to the north.

Spot on David....more or less.....I rechecked and came up with 75KM +/- from Hwy 1 to BA

Tio, thanks for the info I will do that asap. I did buy a guidebook for hubby for Christmas but we were disappointed with it, I will get the one you
suggest and not leave home without it!. And we have been needing to look into getting Discover Baja.

Actually, Bajaluna, even without the mileage, getting from the Miramar Market to the Police Station without knowing that it is a tenth of a kilometer
is pretty easy for most folks.
Caution, if you are looking down at your odometer you may miss the big sign painted on the building at Campo Serena. Besides, it too is so close that
the numbers won't have a chance to change on your gauges.

The easiest and fastest way to calculate mileage from kilometers to miles or miles to kilometers is to look at your speedometer it is in both and will
show you at a glance.
It is a handy comparison for both Speed and actual miles.

Let's see, from the entronque to the monumento Vizcaino to Bahia Asuncion, my odometer has measured 71.8 miles quite a number of times. With those
older odometer checks along the freeways in California, my odometer measured maybe a tenth of a tenth off in 6 miles of mile markers. At 60 mph the
speedometer was right on the nose at 60 seconds. So something around 70 miles sounds reasonable enough for thermonuclear targeting purposes.

Now did that include the added miles for driving in a zig zag fashion needed to avoid craters in the road? 
I do hope the work is rapidly continuing on that road.
