www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=22&t=10‎

The national average retail price of a gallon of regular gasoline in July 2013 was $3.59. The four main components of the retail price and approximate shares of the total price were

1.Crude Oil: 70%. The cost of crude oil as a share of the retail price varies over time and among regions of the country. Refiners paid an average of about $105.00 per barrel of crude oil, or about $2.51 per gallon.
2.Refining Costs and Profits: 12%
3.Distribution, Marketing, and Retail Costs and Profits: 7%
4.Taxes: 12%. Federal excise taxes were 18.4 cents per gallon and state excise taxes averaged 23.47 cents per gallon.

Looks like the days of "cheap" Mexican gas are over. Soon people will be crossing over into the US to fuel up in San Diego. Times change...........

Crude is at a 27 month high, if the ill conceived attack on Syria proceeds as expected, it is projected to send crude prices to $150 a barrel. It's no mystery why the Saudis are pushing for intervention in Syria. As soon as the first cruise missile hits Damascus, you can bet we'll see a dramatic spike in fuel prices.

I had to return to Bullhead City for a couple of days and the price for regular is $3.15/gal at the Maverick with a 2cent discount.
Cheap gas is surely not a good reason to come back in the summer

Interesting tidbits:

In the last full month of the G. Bush presidency, gas was at $1.68 a gallon.
When Obama was sworn in as president in January of 09, gas was $1.78 a gallon.
Now it bounces around at over double that price.

Bush/Chaney really suck.

Let's see now, during which administration did we suffer the worst attack on American Soil since WWII and during which administration did we suffer the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression costing the loss of Trillions in wealth to this country and other countries, and during which administration did we Americans get pulled into an unfunded war that was all based on a false premise resulting in Trillions in National Debt and costing the lives of over 4,000 American soldiers ?

Now THAT really sucks!
