Percebu conditions

source: Barbara A
We were in Percebu yesterday, Friday. and all the water from town to there had receded. It seemed as if the most damage was along the sides of the road.....big gullies and drop offs. Otherwise the road seemed OK. There were men out cleaning the mud off the road. They were either volunteers of extra people they called in because they were driving their own vehicles and no orange vests.

It was very destructive down here. Because we are down on the beach, when I built mt house I designed the drainage and grading to flow down and away from my home. Many folks laughed at me when I told them I was preparing for a down pour in case of a hurricane or bad storm

Needless to say there was a mess and most of my neighbors had water in there homes or was flowing around there homes. We had zero issues, no leaks, but one more hour or two and I think the water would have risen enough to enter our back door.

20+ years ago, my wife and her 5 kids joined me in my '64 Dodge station wagon for a trip from La Paz to Tijuana.

Road conditions exactly as shown.

Big trucks crossed first.
Pickups went next.
Then, idiots like me followed - never got stuck and always made it through.

But, never more!

The road crew covered it up last year with some black paint but the white paint is showing through pretty well.

Haven't been down since mid June so I don't know how it's looking.

I have a friend who has a buddy who's cousin thinks he knows who painted the original 15 years ago...
