anyone having trouble with Skype in BCS?
We've used Skype for years in BCS with no problems. We were making calls as recently as mid-July. This week, after returning from a visit up north,
our SKype will not work. Voices come through totally garbled and I don't believe the other party hears us at all. I've run all the Skype tests and
everything is working.
Our land line is out since Ivo. I'm running off my banda ancha which I usually save for trips to the mainland. I have made calls with it from the
mainland many times and had no problems. My connection looks strong.
I'm thinking I need to sign up for a VPN, if Telcel is blocking Skype again, but I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing problems.
Thanks for your input.

Remove it and reload it to be sure you have the latest app/plugin.
If your internet connection is US (Sat) use Google Hangouts...Free.

I've got all the updates. All looks good. Must be something to do with the banda ancha. I bet when our land line is reconnected all will be well.
Just have to be patient. Not my strong point.
Thanks for the input.

Try to do a speed test on your DSL/Cable line.
If it is slow, unplug and re plug the modem back in.

Speed looks good. And I'm not on DSL right now. I'm on a wide band USB modem. Which is where I'm thinking the problem is. Despite seeming to have
sufficient speed.
I'll keep puttering and hope the landline is repaired soon. Thanks everyone. At least I know I can't blame it on Slim.

Telcel USB Internet has way too much latency issues for Skype and MagicJack to work properly. On a good day it stinks.

I have had a telcel 3g smartphone for many years in Manzanillo, equivalent internet connection to your banda ancha, and I have never had success using
skype over the 3g network. I think you will need to use it with some connection other than your banda ancha.

Got our landline up and running again with a new filter given to us by the Telmex guys. Sheesh. A filter! And as soon as the landline was up and
running, Skype was working. Lack of Skype was definitely a banda ancha problem. It seems to work in some places and not in others. One of life's
countless mysteries. Thanks for all your thoughts. Glad to be connected again....................
