Dos Amigos Campground/RV San Lucas Cove Open?
Good morning;
Has anyone stopped by Dos Amigos Campground RV in San Lucas Cove recently? This is south of Santa Rosalia. It was run by Maria and Santos, if
memory still works. Nice people. Are they still open?

Santos and Glorifira. Yes it is open. They live there all year.

San Lucas Cove RV campground is also open, w/ running water, hot showers and toilets, and a do-able boat ramp (for smaller to medium size craft) at
medium-to-high tides with a very good fish cleaning station. It's run by the Ejido San Lucas, prices reasonable starting at $10/day with weekly,
monthly and yearly rates. It also now has a very good little restaurant open on weekends only; very nice owners, and even nicer food.
Camacho's RV park is also usually open during tourist season (Oct-May). Facilities are 'iffy' as far as toilets/showers, less facilities than San
Lucas but usually lower prices (can't guarantee that, i honestly don't know for sure).
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

It's open, but it's not what you might expect.
One problem is - the waterfront spaces are all taken, with attachment, barns and patios spanning the entire space so you don't even see the water from
the second row. There is a beach access at the right end, though.
In the second row there is a dog playground, so you are not going to like it, I think the only space for transients is next to the toilet  . The place is very small, you might park somewhere between next to the junk of
service yard, i.e. behind the 2rd row, but there is no 3rd row to speak of.
Same as Budha, for a short stay I recommend Sal Lucas Cove. It's more relaxed, there are no structures to block the view, and quieter than Dos
Amigos. Little restaurant does not cause any problems, as noted. Just don't park close to the trailer with purple awning in the 3rd row, that little
barn behind the trailer contains a huge diesel generator.

And the best live music in Baja on Sunday afternoons at the restaurant. We have a famous bass player from New Mexico who is really hot.

Don't remember any live music coming from the restaurant on SLC camp, but they are open on weekends only close around 11.

Alm, I dunno what generator you're referring to; we had problems with a neighbor 2 seasons ago the other side of the wall behind the restaurant, but
that gen. has been removed. The trailer at the north end with the purple awning/shade screen doesn't have a diesel generator.
Also, the restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m.-ish to 7:00 pm now, unless they have enough clients to warrant staying open longer for something like
football or special events. The owners commute from Mulege and don't like driving iafter dark with the black meadow mooses on the highway. The music
Sr. P. was touting is (hopefully) a weekly jam session with a plethora of talented locals (cough cough).

Well, if you had heard it once, it would have left an indelible impression on the depths of your memory.
All kidding aside, we have some people that get together to play at the little restaurant and we normally do that on Sunday afternoons. Buddha is a
very talented bass player that also does some really interesting things on his 6 string as well. Bill Hammell plays a left handed 12 string when he
is over from Asuncion and is very good. Darlene comes from Calgary, Alberta and belts out songs with lots of energy and enthusiasm, and I get to play
with these guys on my old Taylor and sing a few.

Whatever they have in there, is very loud. But you can't - almost - hear it if parked 5-6 spaces away.

I have not had a chance to eat there yet, but the music and good times roll...and I can't wait to get back down there to enjoy it again. Special

That is OK son, we will let you come and listen to us anytime you are down here, but next time you need another place to stay, I rented out your
room.
