RoundUp equivalent?

What might I ask for at an Ag Supply store for weed killer spray?

Paraquat....a reliable contact killer. Cost around 100 Ps per liter of concentrate. A capful will work with a couple of gallons of water in a sprayer.
Happy Hunting.

Just to clarify, Round Up, Paraquat, etc. are product names for types of herbicide... 'plant killers'.

You might want to try vinegar - but find some "industrial grade" and see: http://www.agardenforthehouse.com/2011/06/got-weeds-use-vine...

Sure does. I'm not talking about flying a tankerfull over your garden. just a little spritz of sudden death from a Hudson Sprayer.

We've been through this here in the past, and an expert stated that Paraquat wasn't quite the same as AO, but close.

Besides....what's wrong with a little cancer when we have socialized medicine? Getting rid of it will be free, and fast,....wont it?

BTW...I'll have to read your links later. I'm going to be late for my appointment to have these growths cut off my ankels.

Round Up .... I just hit my yard twice in 3 days with it and all the weeds are doing quite well. The loco weed is thriving. I was hoping for brown but got a beautiful nitrogen green. :?:

Round Up takes a week+ (if it hasn't rained or been foggy after you apply... second application is usually done a week after first on any that don't begin to show color change).

Right Dennis, but Round Up is available to civilians without special permits... and Russ did use the brand name Round Up... so I was not endorsing it, just explaining why his weeds were not dead in 72 hours.

Most growers use a small addition (1/2 tsp per gallon) of ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate to the roundup to enhance the absorption by the plant. Speeds up the process quite a bit. Diquat, if you can get it, is safer than paraquat and used in ponds and other bodies of water to kill water weeds.

Anybody know how to kill bamboo??? Round-up takes forever, and takes lots of applications, apparently. Been working at it for 4 months and am just now seeing results.

Actually I'm familiar with Round Up. Before I moved here I worked 9 years with the Kitsap County Parks. We used it on some trails, fence lines, noxious weed control, rehabed planters and even some smaller play fields among other applications. It was our grass and broad leaf control of choice. Didn't do much on black berries tho.
Down here it hasn't done squat over (for me) the years. I keep trying it but it doesn't seem the right product for my weeds. The local gardener charges me $30 to hoola hoe the yard and everything is good for a couple of weeks. Putting out bird food doesn't help the cause much. The Round Up does works on what ever bird seeds root.
I will try some of the suggestions above. Thanks for the input.
