Over half of the Algodones dentists do implants now. Total cost about $400 per implant and crown.

I've seen quotes on the internet and have friends that have had them at Algo and it's not nearly that cheap. Unless you're talking implants into dentures.

It's 3-4 times that amount. Still reasonable by US standards.

I love Sani Dental. You can stay in their Hacienda for $30 a night for a single and $45 a nite for two.

I think this is it...they're great. I was just there. Call their Yuma AZ phone.

Yep, $400 is the cost of the crown, but the total implant will be closer to $1200. There are numerous people there who do a great job with implants and have a lot of experience.

This sounds more on par. If the total is $400.00 RUN!!! The cost for a dentist to buy a decent implant post alone is between $250.00 for a lower end to $400.00 for a nobel biocare post.

You're correct.
I was quoted a $12 to $1300.00 price by a dentist in La Paz.

I had one done in Guaymas in the last 18 months and it was 16,000 pesos. Probably a little cheaper in Algodones. True competition in Mexico; what a concept!!!

Resurrecting an old post about dentistry in Los Algodones with a link to a story on today's All Things Considered on NPR.

Quote:

"It's inexpensive; it averages two-thirds less than in the U.S. And it's quick. There are so many dental labs in town, it only takes a day or two to make a crown, a bridge, even dentures."

This past march I had 4 crowns and 1 extraction. Total price was $1280. Price in Reno was going to be $3600. My friends wife was quoted $11,600 for work she needed in Grass Valley. Total bill from Dr. Carlos Maya Zurita in Los Algodones was $2400. for the same work. Very happy with all work.

I broke a tooth a few month ago, while in La Paz.

Went to my friend's dentist, she looked at it and said I needed an implant.

It took a week or so, no problems at all, the final cost including a crown and a temporary tooth for my smile : 3,500.00 Pesos

The dentist lady was not as refined as my dentista a home, but it was a great deal overall.

The best thing, that new tooth is still going strong......

I have a buddy that works for Delta Dental. He said they pay claims in Algodones all the time. I had a tooth pulled awhile back that I would like to get replaced. Since I cross at Algodones I just might have to look into this.
