Only vineyards I know of - one in the mountains and another at the end of the townsite road in San Jose de Comondu, the rest I have noticed are
garden plots, although there may be more. Several years ago I was told the "vines were planted by the padres" and the only truly drinkable wine I
found is a dry, unfortified sherry type from an artisinal winery that has been around since 1960. Haven't yet tried the winning bottle I purchased
from the lady's kitchen after she accepted her award.
Very surprised not to notice any other gringos at this event, since the road is now paved all the way in from Insurgentes.

Brinloor... your photos are so beautiful, eloquent.
Thank you. I'm jealous. Good going!

The last picture especially good.
Good enough for a poster or front page on a calendar.
Thanks.

Was it promoted on gringo websites?

Hmm, now that you ask the question, perhaps not.

But when I asked here in town, people knew about it. Go figure.

I knew about it before we left for Lopez Mateo, and then completely spaced out about it on our off days. Next year we will plan better and allow more
down time.

thanks for posting...I think this was the first event of this kind right? Did it take place in both villages..looks like it. Did you try the
pomegranate wine?
This is one of my all time favorite places on the planet and I happen to love the wine that is more like sherry or brandy but rich in flavour.

Actually this was the 3rd festival. I heard the 1st year there were only 20 or 30 cars. Maybe the governor's speeches were a draw this year.
All the wines I tried were grape, but I love pomegranate, would like to track that down.
