Looking for a washing machine drum for fire pit

Can anyone point me in the direction of a washing machine drum or junked washer in the Long Beach, Ca. area?

What is this, has the forum gone nuts? A washing machine drum in Long Beach? This must be a bad joke. Oh by the way does anyone know where I can get a used javelin pole in Bumfork, Arkansas?

Try Craigs list. They often are posted FS in San Diego area. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/grd/4258045928.html

Is Santa Ana closer? http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/for/4231480787.html

I think you have to find an old stainless steel one, the newer ones are galvanized and don't think you're supposed to burn them (toxic).
but im really not sure about any of this.

I've got one stashed in Baja, but you can't have it! The old washer drums are enameled metal, and the perforated drum does a great job distributing the heat, and letting in a good airflow for combustion. And looks really cool too when the fire is burning.

Washer drums

Check with any used appliance store for "Dead" washing machines. You might also stop by a few laundromats and ask.

You might have to take the whole washer and remove the drum.......take the rest to the dump

Thanks for the craigslist link. The Santa Anna one looks perfect. Just sent out a text to see if they still have one for sale.

My Craigslist skills are lacking. The only thing I came up with when I started looking was for a guy up in Ventura looking to buy junked washers to pull the tubs. He was having no love getting any junkers...
