Wow, that's a low tide - never been there when it was that low.

Geeze I wish you wouldn't show pictures of our place there. It's waaaaay tooooo nice to share.

Alfy's is a super place and you would love it if you got there. We had it all to ourselves for the last 40 years when the 100 miles from San Felipe took about 9 hours to drive. So we flew but the runway is under 5 feet of water at the North end during the high tides twice a month....can't get in or out.

The range of tide is 22 feet! The pictures here don't show it at the low point. The hight point is even better.....then you can't even drive to the Cantina until the tide goes out.....and your truck then gets covered with salt mud which tends to void warranties......so wash it off.

Please treat this place as the treasure it is and we will be happy to share it.

BB:-)

Another high tide pic from Rancho Grande on another trip, as the road to Alfonsina's was underwater...

The first time I stayed at Alphonsinas (1983ish??), they only had the shell of the 2-story rooms built, and there were no windows in the window openings. Every time I'm in Gonzaga, I remember the cool breeze that blew through that room all night. We were the only guests there that night, drinks and dinner in the dining room, looking at all the photos on the walls. Something I'll never forget.

Alphonsinas is a great place, very tranquil and beautiful.
