Just got back from looking at it. It is an MRFT-640b fridge and it says it is made for Norcold by an outfit in Sidney, Ohio.

I am confused but I did notice that it draws 4.5 amps at 12v which does sound like a Danfoss compressor.

EDIT: Nope, it is a sawafuji compressor, according to the manual I found on line. I guess it is a 64 qt., no?

No, I havent bought it yet. It's only three blocks from me over here in Sonora.

The guy told me on the phone that it was a 45 qt. but I saw the model number and it's definitely a 640b. All I can find is a service manual on line that covers about 15 different models, so I cant confirm the capacity. It's just a bunch of schematics. It does appear to be taller than my MRFT-45 but I couldnt really tell.

The guy also has a Waeco that looked similar in size that he will be selling in a couple months. No price mentioned. But he said the Norcold froze rings around the Waeco on 12v when he was freezing fillets on offshore trips.

Like most of us.
This reminds me of a time when I was in the market for a camper. Found one that looked like what I wanted and when I asked the seller for the price, he quoted one with the statement that if I dared to offer one penny less, he wouldn't sell it to me after that at any price. :P:no:

you're gonna be sorrrry! but seriously, ive got one sitting down in gonzaga that someone gave me(an older metal clad model norcold) that im going to remove the compressor, cold plate and condenser and retrofit into a more efficient chest, not an expensive yeti box but maybe a 150 qt marine cooler. I have no idea what i'll use it for but sure sounds like a fun project!
