Canoaas
Curious if anyone can tell me about the road conditions from HWY 1 to Canoaas if you take the norther route (common route). From the look of the
almanac it looks manageable but I have never been. I have done a fair amount of off-roading and travel in Baja so this is not something new to me. My
only concern is that I'm taking a vehicle I have never brought before, a Subaru Outback 2007 with some off road additions. Any estimates on miles it
will take and also how concerned I should be about some of the "river/washout" crossings. I would appreciate any feedback.

Recommend having a companion 4WD vehicle along. It was 6 1/2 years ago when The Squarecircle (Land Rover LR3) and I (Toyota Tacoma 4WD Off Road) drove
down the coast. There is some silt a few miles north of Canoas, otherwise it was a good graded, 2WD road. We first went to Santa Catarina Landing,
then over to the Canoas road and on down the coast. However, conditions change and I only recommend having a quality 4WD vehicle with good all terrain
or off road tires.
Our interest was exploring the backroads of Baja and have no details about surfing locations in the Seven Sisters region.

Did that route about 3 years ago.... was not a problem especially if you have the 4WD

expect moon dust and washouts.
maybe just nut up and go for it! don't forget to report back when you return. crop your fotos and remember that the internet is forever.
and if you remember anything, make sure you leave someone at the campsite when you explore, surf, whatever. the friendly kids will extract anything
not tied down when you aren't there.....

Heard roads were really bad in October from 2 people, but neither are big offroaders. Was in area this past week and roads seemed as normal as they
have been to me for the last 20 years. Did not go to Canoas though. Have been stuck in moon dust on that road in a 2wd. If you have 4x4 friend should
be ok.
