Asuncion Fishing Report...January yellowtail ON!

the yellowtail bite is still holding strong with insane summer weather making the fishing more pleasant...air temps have been in the 80's all month and up until today...no real swell.

Anglers have been catching their limits of yellowtail of varying sizes with still some big fish around. These San Fran 49'er fans had a blast with Capt. Juan and couldnt believe the double hook ups, two fish on a single lure etc...and wore sh*t eating grins the whole time they were here...that is until they had to pay up on the game bets...hahahaha...sorry guys!

Scott has been kayak fishing but took his lady Julia for a panga trip. Our kitty was checking out their catch...

That was an amazing day. Thanks to Juan, Juan, and Shari for the trip! We caught fish until our arms got tired. Even got to get a few bonito on the fly (a first for me)! Glad we kept to the conventional gear for the yellowtail, though - they pull something fierce.

Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast - spicy yellowtail on toast
Lunch - bonito ceviche tacos
Dinner - baked stuffed yellowtail fillets

Captain, you have clearly never been on the patio under the umbrella at Bufadora Inn minutes after boat comes in and the finest tenderloins have been removed and Shari has processed them into the freshest morsels just crying for the wasabi and soy that is close at hand!

You're not telling that crowd anything!

Excellent photo of yellowtail sashimi.
You obviously know your photography by having the foregrond as well as the background in full focus.

Shari's home-built jacuzzi is a perfect stand for the dish she constantly prepares for everyone.

It tasted even better than it looks! Shari knows her sashimi.

We did a ginger breading on a couple of yellowtail fillets last night. Mmm!
