pemex in asunsion
Just curious if the pemex is pumping, last year we had to curtail our traveling around town. One month to go for our vacation to start, can't
wait.

there has always been a gas station in Asuncion...across from the big store Miramar with the pillars...just not a Pemex. There is no sign but you can
see the pump there on the main street a block past the police station on the beach side of the road...sure wish they'd hurry up with that Pemex.

That'll depend on how many milliliters there are in the Pemex's liters.

More than likely.
But you should have seen what was there before the gas pump place...it was a wooden shack with some 55 gallon barrels and a 12 volt electric pump, the
kind you see on the back of pick-ups as auxiliary fuel tanks.

Certainly doesn't seem like they're in a hurry with the Pemex. In the past three weeks I swear they've dug up more old stuff than they've put new
stuff in. I'd be real surprised if it's done in the next month.
The station across from Miramar does the job, and they're open relatively late in the evening (still pumping at about 10pm last night). He has the
prices posted on the pump. It's a little more expensive than Pemex, 500p = 35.2L, works out to about 14.2 pesos per L.

The price is OK in a pinch.
I only buy so I have enough to get me around a little bit, plus a trip to Vizcaino.

FYI, y nada mas......current price for PEMEX Magna....12.41 per liter.
How does this independent station get gas to sell? They can't be trucking it in by 50 gallon drums.......can they?

yes they do....they take a big truck full of barrels to Vizcaino...used to be alot more expensive here but Hilario moves at a real slow pace and
prolly will get around to putting the price up soon...after his siesta.

I don't mind supporting a local by paying a little more for gasoline. I'd rather have an ATM than a Pemex in town.

You can use the machine in Miramar, gives about $100 per transaction. Better than nothing!

Fourteen point two pesos per liter for Magna. Spelled it out to avoid curious questions about a "possible" typo.
I guess some of you have never followed the lengthy process of breaking ground for a gasolinera to the point in which the dispensers got uncovered and
started pumping. I've done this with about a dozen gasolineras or so, to this point.
IMHO that station is not going to open before Christmas. O.K. Now I made a statement, let's see how is plays out...

Having over the years watched dreams become a construction in Bahia Asuncion and then evaporate into the unknown, I will be surprised if it ever pumps
gas. Maybe just maybe

OK Sept 20 you win. Autumnal Equinox (Sept 21) you lose.
Must be able to drive in, and get Magna, Premium and Diesel
