Too narrow for safe bike riding south of San Quintin. Some widening construction near San Vicente.

Variable. Pavement is usually good but often very narrow with no shoulder and a steep drop off. Does not seem to bother the truckers a bit. If you drive from TJ to Cabo, don't drive at night and be alert.

At least 6 cows and 1 burro dead along side the road from Constitucion to La Paz and back yesterday. 212 KM.

Don't drive at night!

Thanks for all of the replys. I should have noted, i've been driving this route since 2002. I just needed uptodate info on current road conditions. It seems the road gets worked on evey winter and most times they work on four different places at a time.

Any updates on road/bridge construction around Santo Tomas & San Vicente?

Thx

Last Saturday, February 1st I made the drive Southbound to Loreto. The area you asked about has lots of very short detours in pretty good shape. No long ones and the road down in general is in great shape.

Hey Howard, you gonna be around the end of February. If so, I'll stop by with a cold one (or 10)!
