Planning to go there this weekend for a few days of camping and kayak fishing. Anybody have any current intel? Is it open, restaurant/bar open, bathrooms/showers working? Anybody have contact info? Thanks....

Great Place.......fish the mangroves for snook(,best in october ) yes snook.....and the Boca, in frt of an old rusty chevy pickup ...tide change is huge ....have fun!

Kayaking in the lagoon we raised a sail and when at cross wind gust we nearly tipped over. Scared the hell out of me until I put my oar down and found we were in only 18" of water.

Yes. As you can see, very much open. There are some renovations going on (new cabins being built complete with their own bathrooms and kitchens) so I am not sure of the bathroom/shower situation.

At low tide, walk across the mud flats and fish the channels with some rubber. Lots and lots of endless fun. Be sure to pay close attention to the tide or you will get stuck wading in deeper water. I set a stick at water level and watch for a slight rise and know when to start back across. :cool:
