The shrimp yields are way down and prices up! Mediums down here around $250 w/ large blues higher per kilo. Our favorite Fish Taco ladies are now
charging $25 pesos for shrimp tacos. Ouch! Very few shrimp boat seiners seen over here on the Pacific this winter; fewer than normal. Tio

Is there a Fish Market in Loreto? Selling fresh fish, shrimp, clams, etc...
If so where?
Is it generally good? Fresh?

Make sure they drain the water out of the bag they come in. That seems to be one of their favorite tricks to optimize profit.

It's the 125 dollar a kilo abalone. On the other side they sell cristales, my favorite.

Yeah....That's a lot for just one as far as I know.
I'll have to do some local research if the roads are clear tomorrow.

At Don Ramon's, in Bahia Asunción, they are charging 15 pesos each taco, which includes about 4 shrimps, depending on size.
Don Ramon's is only open limited hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

Udo, did you guys get some rain down there from the last storm that is passing through San Diego? It rained hard here for two days!
Also, it looks like BA is the place to be for shrimp tacos!!

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

I was at the apartment in Tustin, Bob, and don't know if they got any rain.
Shari is at Laguna Ojo De Libre and is generally unavailable for another two weeks.
I'll send an e-mail to one of my friends down there and I'll let you know.

Today (2 March, 2014), at the wholesaler on calle Rosales in La Paz, price was 215 pesos/kilo. Size 31/35, Mexican wild caught, head off, shell on.
When I asked if there was a fishing veda (moratorium) he said no, their expensive because you want them and there aren't any. BTW, lobster tails have
dropped in price since last fall - now 490pesos/kilo. Lobster pizza tonight!
