Great pictures, great speck-tater sport and must be very exciting to do yourself if the learning curve was not so brutal.
The grass is always greener....
and so, there is always a better spot in Baja

when they lose the board they just float down, that kite is basically a parachute.

I took a few kite board lessons, had enough trouble with the board, probably would have even more trouble if the board had a big thing sticking out
the bottom of it. Probably need to learn one thing before progressing to the next thing

Laird Hamilton, the BIG wave surfer, has been using a foil like these on his surfboard. Amazing speed.

You gotta love creative minds...and the wind sports seem to attract a lot of them! Yaa-Hoooo as our northern neighbors say.
As we all know, hydrofoils are not exactly a new design. They have been used on engine driven watercraft both large and small, sailboats,
human-powered boats (kayaks & canoes), windsurfers, wakeboards, and waterskis.
The first hydrofoil boat dates back to 1906 designed and built by the Italian Inventor, Enrico Forlanini (1948-1930). The foil design was made from
the classic "Ladder" type construction which has multiple struts coming down with multiple wings between them. It had a 60 hp engine driving two
counter-rotating air props and during testing, the craft reached a top speed of 42.5 mph. Pretty impressive for 1906!
I've used hydrofoils on all my small fishing boat outboards for a long time...I think the first one was called a 'Flying wing'. It got you out of the
hole much faster and improved fuel efficiency and ride.
Easy to see how and why these great new foil/kite boards can give you the thrill of your life. Now all I need is a time-machine and I'm good to go.
Thanks for the great photos.
