Hotel Jardines question

Anyone stay here and have a favorite room or area of building?

Last time I communicated with the hotel, I was asked if an upper room, in back, was OK. Haven't stayed there so don't know.

The one time I tried to stay there, only because Hotel Mision Santa Maria was full, they tried to put us in a room downstairs that reeked of cleaning solution. I passed. Beautiful looking hotel though and the restaurant is fantastic.

I have never stayed there in the back rooms, always in the front or upstairs rooms. They have always been impeccable!

Lee,
The back rooms are fine. We checked on last year. Any room at Jardines is good.

I've smelled the cleaning solution there too Bob, because the rooms are clean!

I've Stayed there several times. They have dog rooms and fresh strong coffee at o-dark thirty when most want to get on the road. The owner. Giermo, went all out for me after my roll over and couldn't move from the bed in the morning. Called a doctor and he came and gave me an IV that really worked. Not like the frigging want to be hospital in Guerro Negro. The next time Giermo drove me around San Quitin trying to find a document that no one had for the frig'n insurance company.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays. I had their Fish Old San Quintin and it was absolutely the best fish dinner I can remember, anywhere. If for no other reason stay there to walk over to the restaurant.

Lee,

Never have stayed in the back rooms, so no help there. I would try and avoid the interior rooms on the ground floor behind the office. The enclosed hallway echo's any noise and becomes pretty noisy, as the coffee pot is right in front of the office and draws a crowd very early.

Great hotel and is our favorite in San Quintin.

Ken

Hola Lee,

i have stayed at jardines many times before and after the new rooms in the back were completed and have always enjoyed my stays.
Carmen, Guillermo, Esmeralda and Carlos are wonderful hosts. And a shout out to Fernando at the front desk, too.

i always request an upstairs room and they are always exceptionally clean and the showers have unbelievable pressure and have all the hot water you can use. the grounds are very tropical and meticulously maintained and they have a security guard overseeing the entire premises at night. Jardines has a huge parking lot and it and the hotel grounds are immaculate.

their family restaurant is walking distance away and has great food and service. the restaurant building is only a few years old and is very well designed.

the downstairs rooms are pet friendly and that may be the reason one of the rooms smelled of cleaning solution ?

the times i have stayed there over the years, they have been very busy and it is recomended to place a reservation.

Thats not cleaning solution, it's a smell from the heavens!

What you are smelling is what I consider the national fragrance of Mexico. FABULOSO!

I much prefer the smell of Fabuloso over the counterpart that every hotel room in America, Pinesol.

Anyway, it's cheap and my cleaning lady insists on it.

On Sundays they have a special deal at the restaurant where you choose your meat and they BBQ it for you ...so good. There is a salad bar and other side dishes and you make your own plate.

Come visit La Bocana

The only room they had available the time I tried to stay there was an interior room behind the office. That and the cleaner smell was too much for the mrs.

Love Jardines. Clean, friendly and the restaurant is the best. Have never stayed in the back but I would highly recommend them. Do not like the interior rooms on the ground floor, but love the rest.

We've stayed several times, and either been in the down stairs rooms in the back, or one of the two in the very front.
Always clean and welcome after the road!
The back rooms can be impacted by people going up and down the outside stairs to the second floor rooms, especially if there are energetic kids who have been in the van all day.
I suggest asking for one of the upstairs rooms in the back, failing that, a downstairs room in the front.
As reported by all, the restaurant alone is worth the stay! That and the gardens full of song birds!

Loved it. Had a room upstairs and no problems. If fishing you are a bit removed from the action compared to the Old Mill hotel but...you are in a really nice place. The landscaping is beautiful and the birds they feed...just amazing. Not to mention the great restaurant. A Baja sweet spot.

We always travel with a couple of small scented candles to eliminate that odor

All the rooms are great. Now that they have moved the office, the rooms in the front interior are much quieter. I like the rooms in back because of the added privacy. The restaurant is outasight. The crab in paprika sauce is a lot of work to eat, but it is worth it.
