Where to stay in the Wine Country?
Any recommendations on where to stay? Prices are helpful.

I'm looking for recommendations from nomads who've stayed in places they have even returned to.
Adobe Guadalupe looks like a very nice place. Not sure what ''not cheap'' means.

We've stayed here twice and liked it a lot - get an upstair room, great view of the valley. $150.
Adobe is very nice; around $200 but no view if that's important.
both have pools, we liked the Hacienda better.

Rancho Maria Teresa...I have stayed there, loved it and will go back. It's in the vineyard and olive grove which makes morning walks to the chapel on
the property very pleasant. The owners and family run it and are very friendly and helpful. It is close to the highway, but I didn't have a problem
with that. I think it was 43 dollars a night year before last.

Yes, We Have Stayed at Adobe de Guadalupe
But that was a few years ago; it was delightful
The hosts were gracious and the service excellent, but I wasn't paying the bill.
The best info I could find on rates is $168 per night (breakfast included).
Email or call the Adobe Guadalupe Inn to get updated info on the rates.
P.S. Reserving horses for riding is, of course, an extra cost.
Side Note: The barn is a real wonder - a very good copy of the stables that Louis XIV (the King of France) built for his horses - we went through the
original several years ago and it is still in use.

I've stayed at Endémico, La Villa del Valle, El Adobe de Guadalupe, and Motel Búhos. The first three are destination hotels (especially Endémico,
where you are taken in a Land Rover up to your individual cabin) with prices to match ($150-$250), the fourth is a motel where you get a garage door
opener instead of a key and drive in to your room, but is more like $50. Make sure you specify you want to stay the whole night.

El Mezon Del Vino was nice. Quiet and about $45/night. Small pool, we didn't eat there but I guess they sometimes have food. Google it.
