Friendly dolphins in San Ignacio Lagoon?
The last few years it seems like I've seen more dolphins in San Ignacio Lagoon then I recall seeing in the past. This past week a pair came and surfed
the bow wave of our panga. I was sitting in front and leaned over the side to watch them just below the surface.
One of them surfaced and looked up in my direction. For a moment we were eye to eye, like the friendly whales.
Has anyone else had this experience while whale-watching in the lagoons?
I've also had them approach while out with friends who are fishing. I enjoyed seeing them but my friends hate when they scare the fish away.

We were at San Ignacio 3/24 & 25 and we saw dolphins. Our group was in two pangas and the other boat had them riding the bow on the trip back to
camp. We had a great time. One day with Kuyima and the other with Antonio's. Good times for sure. Planning 2015 trip already.

You mean a bow wave, not a wake - the wake is the wave behind the boat. Dolphins do that all the time, wherever they are they love to ride the bow
waves of boats.

we often have that experience in Ojo de Liebre as well and yes, they do look you in the eye and stay beside the boat sometimes...pretty cool eh. If
you listen carefully you can easily hear their high pitched whistles.
