Punta Chivato Camping info please

Haven't camped at chivato for a long time. Last time I was there, we camped at the farthest spot north on the beach.

Does anyone know if that area is still open for camping?

thanks

It's open. No water or outhouses though. Hotelito can provide that.

I'm sure the "stingray shuffle" will be in order, right about now. Last time I cruised in there, there must have been a hundred rays on the side with the finger reefs.

So true, so true.

Thanks for the confirmation. We hope not to end up here as it's a PlanB site. PlanA being the Tortugas area.

Weather currently mild to cool (afternoon wind). Blankets needed at night on "The Other Side".

Thanks Russ. That's good to know. Was down there last Oct. and saw the pipe but nobody around to ask about it. Just went into town and dumped in there. Will be down again end of Sept.

I haven't seen anyone use it But I also noticed it a couple of days ago. There are also other less environmentally correct areas. And I have a stub to my tank you may use.
